Domaine de Merlet 's vineyards are planted on a terroir identical to that of neighboring Grands Crus (Haut-Bailly and La Louvière), namely filtering gravel deposited by the Garonne River. In order to respect the environment and improve quality, the use of herbicides has been banned in favor of total tillage.

This very fine cuvée reveals notes of red fruit (Morello cherry, blackcurrant) and cedar on the nose, which are harmoniously distinguished after swirling. A red wine with great tension on the palate, an assertive tannic structure and a long, fruit-filled structure, well served by controlled ageing.
