Le Domaine de Merlet est une propriété de 6,5 hectares appartenant à la famille Tauzin. Situé entre deux Grands Crus Classés de l’appellation Pessac-Léognan, Il compte aujourd'hui 6,5 hectares de vignes.
Le vignoble de Domaine de Merlet repose sur un terroir identique à celui des grands crus voisins (Haut-Bailly et La Louvière), a savoir des graves filtrantes déposées par la Garonne. Dans un souci de respect de l'environnement et d'amélioration de la qualité, l'emploi des herbicides a été proscrit pour privilégier le travail intégral des sols.

Cette très belle cuvée laisse apparaitre au nez des notes de fruits rouges (griottes, cassis) et de cèdre, qui après agitation se distinguent de façon harmonieuse. Un rouge qui présente une belle tension en bouche, une structure tannique affirmée, ainsi qu'une trame tout en longueur, où prédomine le fruit bien servit par un élevage maîtrisé.
