"This 2016 still seems to be in its early youth. Behind its deep ruby color, we discover a very concentrated nose, marked by jammy black fruits, licorice, and vanilla. The palate is straightforward, full-bodied, and harmonious, combining elegance and power, supported by a rich and racy tannic structure. Superb finish, persistent and promising. A great wine for aging." (Le Guide Hachette 2020)

About the estate:
Located southwest of Pomerol, Château Tour Robert, renamed La Création, is a single vineyard (5.5 hectares today). It was one of the acquisitions (2012) made by Stéphane de Gaye, head of an insurance company, who bought Ch. Grand Corbin Manuel in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in 2005, followed by Ch. Sainte-Barbe in Bordeaux Supérieur in 2013. His daughter Yseult manages these properties, to which Ch. Haut-Cadet in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru was added in 2015.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 93/100
About wine:
Although rich, this wine from a 4-hectare estate is also fragrant, with a balance between oak aging and black fruit. The wood aging is still evident in the spicy character, but the wine is heading toward an impressive, mature, and powerful future. Drink from 2023 onwards. - Roger Voss
James Suckling

Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2020 guide) Recommandé
About wine:
With a dense and deep texture, and a surprisingly thick finish. But the tannins remain elegant, and you'll want to give this wine a few years to fully emerge from its chrysalis.
Yves Beck
