Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This estate owned by Philippe Casteja is one of the great classics of Pomerol. It benefits from the same technical expertise as its big brother, Château Domaine de l'Église. The wines age with elegance and classicism. The latest vintages are of a good standard. We recommend it for its reliability and excellent value for money.
Guide Hachette des vins

About the estate:
Grown on sandy-gravelly soil, composed of 93% Merlot and a dash of Cabernet Franc, this superb 2016 vintage, with its deep color adorned with purple highlights, offers an intense nose of candied fruit, spices, and toasted notes. The palate is full-bodied and persistent, also focused on spicy fruits, revealing a rich texture structured by rich tannins that guarantee a happy evolution.

About the estate:
The estate produces a supple and very flavorful Pomerol, with a strong truffle bouquet reminiscent of Clinet, at a much more affordable price. Its vineyard, located on sandy-gravelly soils, is excellent.
