Acquired in May 2014 by Sylvie Cazes, the Château Chauvin is a beautiful 15-hectare estate located north-west of Saint-Emilion, halfway between Cheval-Blanc and Butte de Rol, near the Pomerol appellation.

The vineyards of Château Chauvin The vineyard extends in a single block around the building, facilitating the work of the teams throughout the vegetative cycle of the vines. The vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot, Saint-Emilion's king grape variety, on sandy-clay soils. In order to respect the terroir as much as possible and express its typical characteristics, the vineyard is managed in a sustainable manner.

Depuis le rachat du Château Chavin, Sylvie Cazes a mené une étude des sols et sols, procédé l'arrachage et la replantation de certaines parcelles et investi dans des nouveaux outils de vendanges. Elle a également mis en place le travail des sols et introduit un nouveau système de drainage. C'est au travers de ce travail à la vigne que le style de vin du Château Chauvin se définit année après année.
