Château Villemaurine
In 2005, Justin Onclin, also owner of Château Branas Grand Poujeaux, took over the reins of the company. Château Villemaurine. This 12-hectare estate, including 7 hectares in a single block, is located on the limestone plateau on the northern edge of Saint Emilion.

A neighbor to some of the most prestigious estates in the Libourne region (Trotte Vieille, Pavie Macquin...), Château Villemaurine is actively building its reputation. Until 2012, Stéphane Derenoncourt was the estate's consultant oenologist. He was then replaced by Hubert de Broüard's team.

Château Villemaurine produces 3 cuvées: Château Villemaurine, Les Angelots de Villemaurine and Clos Larcis, all under the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation.

15,5/20 Gault & Millau

"With its rich approach, the "Les Angelots" cuvée offers a delicate olfactory bouquet based on a farandole of black fruits wrapped in sweet spices. On the palate, it's straightforward, with a woody texture and tight tannins". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - Gault Millau) Despite the early vintage, the 2011 presents aromas of ripe red and black fruits that call for gourmandise. The tannins are silky and the finish slightly licorice-like... A very good second!
