"A superstar steeped in its terroir, which gives it freshness and power. Highly recommended!"
The Lorenzetti family made the right decision in 2008 when they purchased this "sleeping beauty" and decided to promote the expertise of the estate. This 2019 vintage once again reveals the full potential of this château. The nose offers subtle aromas of overripe black fruits. The attack is clean and continues with a full, ample palate that is already charming and supported by a lovely structure. The extraction is perfectly controlled, delivering round, medium-grained tannins. The whole is voluptuous and elegant but not lacking in body. Ready to drink in a few years or to keep. We want more." Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
After passing Cos d'Estournel, and facing Lafon-Rochet, the two towers of Lilian-Ladouys emerge from a sea of vines. This 47-hectare property was purchased by Jacky Lorenzetti in September 2008. As at Pédesclaux, technical supervision is provided by Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen. Dense and colorful, the wines offer immediate appeal. The archetype of a super Bordeaux.

About wine:
A new Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, like new (from the 2018 vintage). I would rank it among Lilian Ladouys' best vintages. It is extremely silky, with such fleshy blackberries that you could almost drink it right away, but there are tannins, and the body of the wine closes up as it progresses on the palate, suggesting that it intends to get serious about its aging potential. Excellent quality overall, easy to recommend, although the acidity is a little higher than in 2018, which may not appeal to everyone. Recently expanded to 80 ha with the addition of vineyards from Tour de Pez and Clauzet (two good quality estates).
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
In the 14th century, La Doys was a farmstead belonging to Lafite. After enjoying its heyday at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries under the name Ch. Ladouys, this wine had practically disappeared. It was revived (and renamed after his wife) by Christian Thiéblot in the 1980s, then by Natexis from 1989 onwards. In 2008, there was another change of ownership with Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti (Pédesclaux in Pauillac), who sold their network of real estate agencies to invest in the vineyard. They undertook a vast program to restructure the 45 hectares of vines.

About wine:
The 2019 vintage is beautifully silky, with smooth fruit and lovely roundness. It is a well-structured wine, intended to be enjoyed fairly quickly, but also capable of aging for a few years in the cellar. A good buy.
About the estate:
Having had several owners who did not always know how to exploit its potential, the discreet Château Lilian Ladouys was bought by businessman Jacky Lorenzetti in 2008. Lorenzetti, who subsequently acquired Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac and Château Lafon Rochet in Saint-Estèphe, has great ambitions for his wines. Lilian Ladouys, which has undergone extensive renovation in recent years, has found a very respectable cruising speed over the last few vintages. The wine deserves the attention of wine lovers.

About wine:
Produced from a large 77-hectare estate, this wine is dense, structured, and full of black coffee and spice flavors, combined with rich tannins. Blackberry fruit shines through this texture, promising good aging potential. Drink from 2026 onwards.

About wine:
This bouquet is full of freshness, floral notes, and red berries. It also reveals hints of graphite. It has a sapid and crisp character on the palate thanks to a refreshing salty touch on the attack. This Lilian-Ladouys is deeply imbued with its terroir, which gives it freshness and power through precise, tight, and well-integrated tannins. It is certainly one of the estate's most accomplished wines. 2026-2044
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100
About wine:
With a beautiful deep color, the wine immediately stands out with its nuances of black cherry, blackcurrant, thyme, mint, tobacco leaf, spices, and smoke. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, fresh and vibrant. The fruit, with its hints of chocolate and mint, lingers in the long, slightly dusty finish. This wine will age and develop for at least two decades or more. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2040.
