"A wonderful discovery typical of St-Julien!"
" The bouquet, discreet but elegant, slowly opens up to black fruit aromas when aerated. This straightforward, well-balanced wine finds its full expression on the palate, carried by a solid tannic structure and a pleasant freshness that gives it a beautiful length. " (Guide Hachette des Vins - 2022 edition). One of Saint-Julien's great discoveries, offering unbeatable value for money!

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
The bouquet, discreet yet elegant, slowly opens up to reveal black fruit aromas when aerated. This straightforward, well-balanced wine finds its full expression on the palate, supported by a solid tannic structure and a pleasant freshness that gives it a beautiful length. 2025-2030
About the estate:
As its name suggests, the terroir of this vineyard, which was separated from Château Lagrange in 1964 and is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle on the edge of the "grands vins" road that runs along the Gironde, is fairly poor. This is a disadvantage for all other crops, but an advantage for quality vines. Acquired in 1982, it is one of the Meffre family's Bordeaux estates.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 90/100 (Very good wine)
About wine:
Solid, with a well-constructed core of blackcurrant and plum, supported by a hint of graphite and framed by notes of smoking tobacco and black earth. A classic introduction to Saint-Julien. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. 2022–2030

Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100
About wine:
In this mature wine, velvety fruit surrounds the firm tannins typical of Saint-Julien. It is bursting with blackcurrant aromas from the majority of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This rich wine needs to age. Drink from 2024 onwards.

About wine:
Aromas of blackberry, graphite, dark chocolate, and hazelnut. Medium-bodied to full-bodied with firm, fine tannins. Structured and concentrated. Linear and refined. Try from 2024 onwards.

Tasted in 06/24. Quite taken aback by this wine, which shows good potential but is unbalanced. Fruit on one side, acidity on the other; the oak aging is not apparent; a shame, as it could have added harmony.
