Château La Rame - Sainte-Croix-du-Mont 2019 (liquoreux)
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
" With its beautiful golden color, this wine lives up to the reputation of the vintage with its intense and complex bouquet, featuring candied notes (quince, yellow and white fruits), as well as its development on the palate. Full-bodied, dense, rich, and very fresh, it is also very appealing thanks to the expressive character of its ripe fruit aromas, supported by well-balanced oak. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022) A chic partner to the luxury events of Avenue Montaigne, this cuvée is described as " one of the Gems of the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation."

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2019 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The vineyards of La Rame, with their limestone terroir rich in fossilized oysters, still produce sweet wines of very good quality today. The 2016 Sainte-Croix-du-Mont confirms the consistency of this affordable château.

About the estate:
Based in Sainte-Croix for eight generations, the Armand family is a local institution renowned for its sweet wines. It produces two wines (organically, without certification): La Caussade and La Rame, its flagship wine, which was already famous in the 19th century. Angélique and Grégoire Armand took over from their father Yves in 2009.

Rated estate (2019 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
A sure bet in the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation, Château La Rame benefits from a remarkable south-facing hillside terroir. It is now managed by Yves Armand's children, Grégoire and Angélique. The wines show great consistency, both in terms of the precision of their aromas and their aging. The estate's prestige cuvée, La Réserve du Château, created in 1983, is always of a high standard and ages beautifully. More affordable, Château La Caussade is a pleasantly fruity sweet wine, but one that is growing in complexity, particularly in the fine 2015 vintage. The reds, which are simpler, can also be delicious.
