"Certainly one of the best deals in Sauternes! ~ La RVF "

"Tradition is good, and it's rewarded once again here with this classic Sauternes, whose Favorite echoes those obtained on the 2011 and 2013 vintages. The nose exhales greedy candied and honeyed notes that find an intense extension in a broad, rich, warm, powerful palate, with an assertive liquorice character and a long, savory finish. Definitely character and potential". (Guide Hachette - Edition 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2015 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

The two brothers Hervé and Patrick Lamothe, who also produce gravel wines, are at the head of this discreet but highly recommendable family estate. The vineyards are spread over the 4 communes of the appellation, with a mosaic of 80 different plots, some of which are over 100 years old.

Wine rated (guide 2021) 92/100

About the wine:

Honey, marmalade, toasted baking spices and candied lemon. Full-bodied and well-balanced. Acidity and spices bring freshness and balance. Tasty, medium finish. Try after 2023.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Superb, complex and inviting bouquet. Notes of mandarin peel and honey followed by nuances of nougat, cocoa and saffron. On the palate, the wine is smooth and creamy. Its sweetness is compelling but by no means overpowering. Fruity, balanced and racy on the finish, with a refreshing tension. 2024-2048

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Rated wine (2020 guide) 93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers gourmandise, a little richness, a fine intensity and a stretched side. There are notes of candied quince, vine peach in syrup and, more lightly, pear, combined with hints of apricot in syrup, racy minerality and hints of pineapple, nutmeg, lemon blossom, a discreet hint of spice, mango and very discreet hints of toast. The palate is fruity, mineral and well-balanced, with an acidic structure, a lovely freshness, a little creaminess and a fine syrupy finish. On the palate, notes of candied apple, crushed pear and, to a lesser extent, candied quince are combined with hints of pineapple in syrup, dried apricot and a subtle touch of mango, as well as discreet hints of vanilla, almond, racy minerality and toastiness. Good length.
