Until 2004, Château d'Yquem was a family-owned estate, run from 1967 onwards by Alexandre Lur-Saluces, who helped make it the most famous sweet wine in the world, thanks in particular to its exceptional qualities and unfailing consistency for over 100 years.
Château d'Yquem was the first Sauternes AOC to be promoted to Premier Grand Cru Supérieur in 1855. Château d'Yquem now belongs to the LVMH group and is managed by Pierre Lurton, who is skillfully continuing a journey that began over two centuries ago.
