These terroirs are often very close to one another, and it's not uncommon for the region's most emblematic crus to rub shoulders just a few dozen meters apart. The soils are predominantly limestone, with clays and marls on an often stony structure, providing effective drainage for vine-growing. These terroirs have benefited from the appellation since 1937. \r\n \r\n Burgundy wines are made with two king grape varieties: Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines, the latter being specific to the region, to deliver some of the world's finest expressions in mythical appellations. Burgundy appellation wines open the range offered by the region and are excellent introductory wines: the whites are renowned for their vivacity and broad aromatic range, while the reds play on elegance and finesse as well as an often light and fluid structure. The Burgundy appellation is sublimated by such great houses as Louis Jadot, Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils, Joseph Drouhin, Domaine Devillard, Domaine René Bouvier and Domaine Guffens-Heynen. \r\n","Domaine Christophe Buisson has 7 hectares of vines, including 3 in the commune of Saint-Romain. The owner's motto is: \"To have a good product, you need a good raw material and rigorous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar\". It was from this philosophy that Christophe Buisson set his sights early on, with the ultimate goal of going organic. In 2009, the estate began its conversion to organic production, and 2012 was the first Ecocert-certified vintage. \r\n \r\nThis quality approach leads to uncompromising work: in spring, ploughing begins until the end of July, AB-certified treatments only, manual harvesting on the 7 hectares with a team of 20 people, and meticulous vinification. Christophe Buisson produces only 50,000 bottles a year, to the delight of wine-lovers everywhere.","Enjoy as an aperitif, with cheese gougères, escargot, shellfish...","New vintage, 2009 rated: Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur, Gault Millau 15/20 \r\nSaint-Romain 'Sous le Château' rouge 2010 opens with aromas of ripe red fruit and fine, silky tannins. Well-balanced, with notes of peony and good tension. Well within its appellation, this red will be perfect in three years' time with grilled red meat. ","Notes : Guide Hachette 1*(Very successful wine), Gault Millau 15,5/20 \r\n \"This Auxey strikes just the right balance between deliciousness and character. Black cherry, blackcurrant and violet are clearly expressed, with firm tannins on the finish that beckon you to the table\". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau)","A new vintage, the 2009 was rated: Gault Millau 15/20 \r\nThis Savigny has everything you'd expect from the appellation. Finesse, digestibility, with the added bonus of a fuller body that salutes the richness of the vintage. A slightly warm finish of burlat and brandied cherries. ","A new vintage, the 2009 was rated: Gault Millau 16/20 \r\nChristophe Buisson's style is evident in this Saint-Romain blanc 'Sous le Château'. A full-bodied wine with a lovely mineral texture. Enjoy with noble fish. ","New vintage, 2009 rated: Gault Millau 15/20 \r\nChristophe Buisson vinifies this Puligny-Montrachet in the spirit and respect of the appellation. Ample and round on the palate, with lovely white flower aromas, lime blossom notes and a mineral edge. The ensemble is already seductive, but time will reveal all its secrets! ","New vintage, 2009 rated: Gault Millau 16.5/20 \r\nThis Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru is a beautifully concentrated wine with lovely juiciness, offering fine black fruit aromas and subtle woody notes due to the finesse of the ageing process. Christophe Buisson 's Aligoté is everything you'd expect from this wine. It's full-bodied, lively and fresh, with citrus fruit flavors on a mineral backdrop and great balance. Enjoy as an aperitif (without adding blackcurrant!), with seafood or cold fish-based starters!
