Rated wine (2018 guide) 17.5/20 (Reference wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the wine:

Located just below the Chemin des Bressandes, this vineyard produces a magnificently aristocratic wine. A masterpiece of balance between tight tannins, noble and concentrated aromatic expression, and a whole possessing restraint and precision.

About the domain :

With 47 hectares in 25 climats, this family estate, assembled from innumerable parcels, boasts a unique winegrowing heritage, including a first-rate representation of the Corton hillside. The wines are faithful to their original terroirs, unpretentious and full of sincerity. The estate is managed by Dominique Guyon, and will be certified organic from the 2018 vintage. The reds, made from partially destemmed grapes, combine ripe fruit and fine tannins. They are faithful representatives of their terroir of origin, with a successful range of reds in 2018, where Corton Clos-du-Roi is leading the way, which is not unusual. In white, outstanding Meursault charmes-dessus and Pernand sous-frétille.

Rated (2017 guide) 17.5/20 (Grand vin)

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Dense, fresh and complete, with noble tannins. This cuvée, which tops the house's range, is designed for long ageing. We appreciate its breed and definition on the palate.

About the domain :

Founded in 1960 by Antonin Guyon, the domaine is now run by his son Dominique, who is passionate about winemaking, and supervised by Greek oenologist Kyriakos Kynigopoulos. The range on offer is extensive, with highlights in Côte de Nuits including a remarkable Chambolle Clos du Village and, in Côte de Beaune, four superb Cortons, including a Corton-Charlemagne.

About the domain :

This large 48-hectare estate is located in Savigny-lès-Beaune. In the 1960s, Antonin Guyon purchased parcels from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault. In 1970, his son Dominique completed the estate. He succeeded in bringing together 350 parcels belonging to nearly 80 owners in the commune of Meuilley in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, representing a total of 22 hectares. Today, Dominique Guyon runs the estate and carries out the vinifications with the help of his cellar master, who is also his vineyard manager, Vincent Nicot. The vineyard is particularly well tended, with ploughing, moderate soil improvement, limited yields and grapes always sorted at harvest time. The domaine offers a wide range of wines in both Côte-de-Nuits and Côte-de-Beaune, with many 1ers Crus and a few Grands Crus de Corton and a Charmes-Chambertin. All the wines have great fruit and density.
