2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

Note du Guide Hachette des Vins : 2**(Vin remarquable) + Coup de Coeur
"Olivier Leflaive and Franck Grux, the cellar master, play on an ideal palette where their intuition and know-how give birth to remarkable cuvées, like this 1er cru made from three mechanically harvested plots vinified for three months before bottling. First, you'll appreciate the brilliant green-gold color and intense scents of citrus fruit, white flowers and toasted almonds. The flesh is perfectly balanced between fatness and liveliness. The long, lemony finish makes this Montagny ideal for a seafood dish, such as a fish terrine, now or in three years' time". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2016 guide) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

To enjoy Olivier Leflaive's wines, it's advisable to make an appointment at his table d'hôtes in the center of Puligny, where food and wine can be matched in perfect harmony. It's also possible to sleep here, with rooms overlooking the vineyards. Franck Grux's experience and technical talent ensure that the wines he produces are always of the highest quality, enabling him to achieve great stylistic precision and negotiate delicate vintages such as 2012. Since 2011, the domaine's wines have taken their place following Olivier's inheritance, enabling us to taste Puligny's premier and grand crus. The 2013 vintage is superbly interpreted.

Domaine noté Award-winning wines (Wines from this producer regularly win awards in the guide)

About the wine:

To make a great wine in the appellation communale, nothing beats the old Burgundian principle of the "cuvée ronde": blending wines from different, complementary parcels. Olivier Leflaive and Franck Grux, the cellar master, play on an ideal palette where their intuition and know-how give birth to remarkable cuvées, like this 1er cru made from three mechanically harvested parcels vinified for three months before bottling. First, you'll appreciate the brilliant green-gold color and intense scents of citrus fruit, white flowers and toasted almonds. The flesh is perfectly balanced between fatness and liveliness. The long, lemony finish makes this Montagny ideal for a seafood dish, such as a fish terrine, now or in three years' time.
