Pouilly-Loché
The Pouilly-Loché appellation d'origine contrôlée is a village appellation in the Mâconnais region of Saône-et-Loire. The Pouilly-Loché appellation may be followed by the name of the climate from which the wine comes, and applies exclusively to the commune of Loché.

The Pouilly-Loché AOC occupies part of the east-facing slope overlooking the Saône valley, between 200 and 250 meters above sea level, an ideal altitude for this continental climate, which is ideally suited to the Chardonnay grape thanks to its autumnal sunshine. Due to the many faults that have shaped the Mâconnais since the secondary era, the terroirs of Pouilly-Loché are varied and complex, despite the small size of the vineyard (some 32 hectares). To the north of the village, there are older, sandstone and schist soils that warm up quickly in the sun, and to the south, on the edge of Vinzelles, clay-limestone soils with a ferruginous base, quite similar to those of Vinzelles. This variety of soils largely determines the typicity of Pouilly-Loché's various climats, of which Domaine Bret Brothers is an excellent example.

Pouilly-Loché winesare white wines made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. They are straightforward and lively, with an initial aromatic register of citrus fruit that makes for characterful pairings. After 3 to 5 years in the bottle, depending on the vintage, the more complex notes of Pouilly-Loché reveal themselves under a beautiful amber color.

Pure and crystalline, this Pouilly-Loché also expresses freshness. From a rather sunny area, the wine is fine and subtle, with a light woodiness. A singular sensation of harmony and delicacy invades the palate, it's tight, the minerality still outshines the wine. Simply superb!

Stemming from blushing soils on a sunny hillside, Les Mûres offers a precise, delicate white in this 2020 vintage. The subtle nose opens up gradually, offering nuances of aromatic herbs and white fruit. In this vintage, the palate is dynamic, with a hint of chalkiness. A magnificent expression of terroir. Real elegance. A great white is born...

"Vinified in old barrels, La Colonge reveals scents of blood orange, and a mouth full of energy, still very ripe ripe and with marked bitters ". (Guide RVF 2021). The smallest appellation in the Mâconnais, Pouilly-Loché reveals Chardonnays of great aromatic finesse.

"The Pouilly-Loché Les Mûres has good staying power, and presents a perfect balance between fleshiness, vivacity and very subtle ageing." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2017 - RVF) In organic reconversion since 2013, the "Les Mûres" plot is probably the best terroir in Pouilly-Loché. Soils laden with iron oxides produce a rich, mineral, very long, fruity wine. Still a little restrained, it will fully reveal itself in 2 to 3 years. A very fine vintage that confirms our work in organic viticulture.
