Burghound

"A slight reduction won't be enough to completely mask the petroleum and citrus zest scents. The texture of the perfumes on the mid-palate is much more vibrant and unctuous, with better underlying tension, all wrapped up in a much drier, more persistent finish. It can be enjoyed young or cellared for a few years". (Burghound - Allen Meadow)

About the domain :

This ancient estate, which dates back to the 18th century, now covers 24 hectares. It is run by Roger Belland, who set up in 1981, his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and is in charge of vinification, and their new collaborator Martin Boyer. No certified organic farming here, but controlled, reasoned viticulture (total grassing of the vineyard, no weedkillers), and wines of great consistency.

Wood, no balance, no structure and no fruit. Disappointing at this price.

A good winemaker...a straightforward, fragrant wine with good staying power. A great white wine, close in quality to a grand cru...
