With a policy resolutely geared towards the production of top-of-the-range, quality wines, the trade press is full of praise for Domaine Roger Belland, as evidenced by the numerous articles published in specialized magazines and guides (La Revue du Vin de France, Guide Hachette, Gault Millau, Bettane & Dessauve...).
The vineyards of Domaine Roger Belland are managed using the "lutte raisonnée" method, which gives priority to short pruning, rigorous disbudding and total grassing of the rows. Thanks to these practices, Domaine Roger Belland generally does not need to resort to extreme solutions such as green harvesting. The vines, with an average age of 45 years, and the south-southeast orientation of the slope, enable the production of quality grapes with yields limited to 40 hl/ha, which are carefully harvested and sorted by hand in the vineyard. Rigorous, meticulous work ensures that each cuvée is a great Burgundy wine.

This round, full-bodied, elegant wine is particularly persistent.

"Clearly ripe aromas include candied citrus, poached apple and a hint of floral. The very round, even suave flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel while showing good length on the refreshing bitter lemon-infused finish. This sufficiently concentrated vintage should drink well, especially in its youth (2023+)". (Burghound 2021). The white Santenay Comme Dessus, near Chassagne-Montarchet, benefits from an ideal south-east exposure, and offers just the right balance of fat and freshness on the palate. To be enjoyed young, it goes well with specialties such as snails or grilled fish (sea bass or pan-fried scallops).

Here, a Charmes "tout court" from a lovely 1.15 ha parcel offers a bouquet of ripe black fruit with a touch of pepper. The fruit is accompanied by a fine woodiness on the full, well-structured palate". Round and generous, it's an immediate pleasure!

A clear minerality and a structured palate highlight the intense, vibrant nuances in a deep, long and harmonious wine. A true declaration of love!
