In 1976, Joel Pertson founded Ravenswood Winery. Called "the godfather of Zinfandel", he creates a powerful, gourmet style of wine accessible to the widest possible audience. Ravenswood is now owned by the Constellation Brand group, but Joel Peterson remains the man on the spot.

"No wimpy wines", the estate's motto, attracts curious tasters with a passion for Zinfandel.
