Laroche - Vina Punto Alto
Viña Punto Alto is owned by the Laroche family, who have been producing and making Chablis wines since 1850. Michel Laroche, who represents the 5th generation, joined the family estate in 1967 to carry on the tradition and continue the work begun. In 2001, the enterprising spirit of Michel Laroche and his colleagues took them beyond the borders of France to take up the challenge of the New World. Fascinated by the potential of the unique climatic conditions, the wide variety of grape varieties and the ancestral culture of wine, he decided to create a vineyard in Chile: Viña Punto Alto. In 2005, he bought 53 hectares of slopes ideally located in the Casablanca valley, west of Santiago, towards Valparaiso, at the foot of the El Mahuco mountain that separates the Casablanca and Maipo valleys. In 2006, Michel Laroche acquired a 23-hectare estate planted with Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, with a perfectly functional winery immediately adjacent to the highway linking Santiago to Valparaiso.

In Chile, as elsewhere, the quality of viticulture is a central concern. Great wines require great grapes! Viña Punto Alto 's philosophy is: controlled yields, harvesting at full ripeness while preserving the freshness of the fruit, meticulous vinification, use of barrels reserved almost exclusively for the best red wines with a solid structure. Aging is adapted to each grape variety according to the desired style. In all cases, Viña Punto Alto 's aim is to express the specific characteristics of each grape variety. Chile's wines are aromatic, harmonious and distinguished.
