Bodega Portal del Priorat

The Bodega Portal del Priorat, partially buried beneath the vines, is a veritable artisanal oenological laboratory, featuring barrels of ancient grape varieties and concrete eggs for mini fermentations. Since 2007, renowned international oenologist Stephen Pannell has joined the Bodega Portal del Priorat team, bringing his experience and creative vision.

Bodega Portal del Priorat, located as its name suggests in the Priorat appellation, produces two wines from the Clos del Portal finca, benefiting from a special microclimate on a 40-hectare area (including 15 hectares planted) that rises from the Siurana river to the edge of Montsant. The soils are predominantly licorella slate (schist) with various orientations. Grape varieties, exclusively red, are dominated by the autoctone varieties Grenache and Carignan, but varieties exogenous to the region such as Syrah, Cabernets and others are also present.

The two DO Priorat wines from Bodega Portal del Priorat, which has just entered the inner circle of giants, are absolutely immense.
