Bodegas Dios Ares
Bodegas Dios Ares was founded in 2001 by Carlos San Pedro, also owner and technical director of Bodegas Pujanza, in association with other wine personalities, and produced its first vintage in 2004.

The Bodegas Dios Ares vineyards, covering some 100 hectares, are located in Laguardia (Rioja Alavesa), producing an excellent selection of grapes. The terroir is composed of clay-limestone soils, at an average altitude of 400 to 650 meters. Throughout the growing process, Bodegas Dios Ares ' vineyards are monitored, from pruning to the final weeks before harvest, to ensure that the grapes are perfectly ripe.

"Not to be missed!"

"The 2018 Crianza Ares is quite different from the new project, Voelos, which is more traditional. It's still Tempranillo de la Sonsierra, aged in French barrels for 12 months, but in a completely different style - here, fruit plays the main role. This is a very easy-drinking style of Crianza, with the oak in the background (or even further back...) with clean fruit and a vibrant palate with great freshness. It's perfect by the glass and as an accompaniment. " (Wine Advocate 2020)

"The Ares Reserva 2008 was aged for 26 months in 25% new French barrels (Allier and Tronçais). It has a fragrant bouquet with lovely minerality and balance, with a precise, mineral, well-defined finish. Drink through 2020. (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). An intense red, with a fine balance between fruit and wood. Persistent and long on the finish, it's very elegant!
