96/100
Robert Parker
"Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos is a blend of Furmint, Zéta and Harslevelu, macerated mainly with finished wine. It boasts an exceptional bouquet of tangerine, quince and marmalade, as well as sublime minerality and tension. The palate is very well balanced with madarine, lime, orange peel and a touch of quince. This is a crisp wine, an unpredictable but convincing Tokaji with a very long, sustained finish. A 5 Puttonyos highly recommended." (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker)

A very fine furmint with such a precarious balance between sugar and acidity, the unaccustomed will find it not quite syrupy enough.

A good little acidity gives it a certain freshness and prevents us from feeling as full-bellied as after a fifteen-year-old sauterne.
