From Italy's historic "Villero" vineyard, this marvelous 2013 vintage has benefited from the perfect south/south-west exposure and exceptional terroir offered by Castiglione Falleto: the precise workmanship of these parcels has resulted in wines cut for ageing, whose peak reveals floral aromas and unfailing balance. Thanks to their exceptional quality, Barolo Villero wines are the only Italian wines ever to have been awarded a score of 100 by Robert Parker! - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Expert opinion
Decanter
Rated wine (guide 2021 ) 93/100
About the wine:
Villero is a vast site facing south-west with many owners. Boroli's version is aged partly in new barrels. The nose is complex, with aromas of wet leaves, truffles, raspberries and dried herbs. Not a blockbuster, but a graceful, polished wine with fine tannins and sufficient acidity. Light on its feet, but showing substance and complexity, it has a long, guaranteed red-fruit finish. It's a stark contrast to the more austere Brunella, but this Villero is generally an excellent wine. 2021-2032
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2018 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
The 2013 Barolo Villero is a firm, slightly austere wine, with plenty of black fruit, licorice, crushed minerals and spice locked deep within its fabric. The approach is direct and traditional, with a dry but persistent finish. 2018-2030
James Suckling
Wine rated (2020 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
Remarkable complexity and richness with aromas and flavors of dried strawberries and spices. Full-bodied, layered and polished, with sparkle and wonderful chewiness. A hint of vanilla. To drink or to keep.
