Domaine Luigi Pira

Luigi Pira is unquestionably Piedmont's rising star, concocting exceptional wines at very reasonable prices, far removed from the skyrocketing prices of certain grands crus. Located in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe and more specifically the Barolo region, the estate was founded in the 1950s by Luigi Pira. Now run by his son, the immense and discreet winemaker Gianpaolo Pira, the domaine Luigi Pira which boasts 10 hectares of vineyards, and owns plots in the region's most famous terroirs such as Marenca, Margheria and Vignarionda, and even shares some plots with its illustrious neighbor Angelo Gaja.

They reflect the full typicity of each of these unique terroirs. The Dolcetto is impressive in its richness and concentration. A winemaker to follow very closely, whose wines should be cellared.
