Owned by the Alabada Jelgersma family (owners of Château Giscours) since 2004, Caiarossa was founded in 1998 and is located in Italy, 15km north of Bolgheri (Tuscany).
The Caiarossa represents the god Dionysus, god of vegetation and wine. This clay head of Etruscan origin (4th century BC) was found on the property and now belongs to Eric Albada Jelgersma.

To men and women fascinated by the unique, whether it's a glass of wine, an object of art or the immaculate summit of a mountain. What the Albada Jelgersma family wants to offer in a glass is Mother Nature's luxury, which man has helped to produce.

"This is an intense, full-bodied but very well-balanced and refined red, with velvety, firm, caressing tannins. Ripe black plums, blueberries, chocolate, mocha, sweet spices and dried lavender. Some oyster shells too. A complex, characterful wine. Creamy at the end thanks to smooth tannins. 26% Syrah, 24% Cabernet franc, 23% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Sangiovese and 2% Grenache. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink from 2026. (James Suckling 2022). Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery).
