Star
The appellation l'Étoile takes its name from the five vine-covered hills around the village of l'Étoile, which form the branches of a star, as well as from the pentacrines, star-shaped fossils scattered throughout the vineyards.

The Étoile PDO covers 67 hectares. The main grape variety is Chardonnay, but Savagnin and Poulsard are also grown. The Étoile appellation produces dry white wine, yellow wine and vin de paille.

"The estate's signature, unique cuvée created to bring people together!"

Made from Chardonnay, Savagnin and a little Poulsard (a red grape variety vinified here as a white), this white wine is both typical of the Jura and very fresh. Delicious notes of brioche and pear can be felt both on the nose and on the palate. Ideal for any occasion, this cuvée will appeal not only to wine lovers, but also (and above all) to those who want to get back in touch with Jura wines, thanks to its accessibility and fresh gourmandise!

"A new cuvée of Chardonnay from a plot planted in 1920, this Etoile Montangis 2015 follows the style of ripe, concentrated wines that Nicole's father and grandfather produced, slightly alcoholic wines with broad shoulders. It has the volume of Chardonnay and the marks of a warm vintage, showing power, concentration and good balance, with aromas reminiscent of nuts and dried spices. A powerful, ripe Chardonnay." ((Wine Advocate 2019 - Luis Gutiérrez) New challenge, new success for Domaine de Montbourgeau!
