The appellation Macvin du Jura covers all the AOC areas of Jura wines and represents 5% of total Jura AOC production. Visit Macvin du Jura is an AOC mistelle (or liqueur wine), the only one made from grape brandy rather than wine.

Known since the 14th century, Macvin du Jura is made from unfermented grape juice, known as must, to which a third of the marc is added. The five Jura grape varieties, Trousseau, Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Savagnin, listed in the "Côtes du Jura" AOC, are all authorized in the production of must for Macvin du Jura.
