3*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"In this westernmost terroir of the Corbières, it is important to choose the right plots and grape varieties; Thierry Tastu has selected and blended Syrah (55%), Grenache (25%), old Carignan and Mourvèdre (10% each) to produce this cuvée with a deep color and vibrant purple highlights. After an initial slightly wild nose, the palette shifts towards plum jam, violet and a hint of oak (fermentation was completed in barrels). The full-bodied attack opens onto a palate that is voluminous, round and subtle, supported by smooth tannins with toasted and cocoa flavors. A rich, distinguished and appealing wine." A lovely fruitiness accompanied by a beautiful length on the palate. It's a shame that the mid-palate is so hollow, as if there were an imbalance in this wine.

Fruity, with blackcurrant as the dominant flavor, but also sour cherry and a strawberry finish. Full-bodied and velvety, offering very good value for money for lovers of this style of wine.

Perhaps it lacks persistence compared to other Corbières wines, but in my opinion it is undoubtedly a good wine.
