Château Mourgues du Grès
Château Mourgues du Grès is located in the heart of the Costières de Nîmes, in the southern part of the Rhône Valley. This 55-hectare estate extends over slopes and terraces whose terroir is made up of pebbles known as "grès". It enjoys a privileged position on the southern slopes of the Costière, between orchards and garrigues.

François Collard, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, cut his teeth at Château-Laffite in the Médoc. In 1990, he decided to return to the family estate of Château Mourgues du Grès, to enhance the diversity of the terroir through the richness of the grape varieties. Precise work in the vineyard combined with a taste for innovation led to the first bottling with the 1993 vintage. The range of Château Mourgues du Grès wines was soon extended to include a gourmet rosé, anticipating a trend that is now well established. The quality and originality of Château Mourgues du Gr ès wines and the consistency of their vintages are regularly recognized by the national and foreign press. This gratitude has always spurred the owner to take up the challenge of producing wines of terroir, sincerity and pleasure with every vintage.

"A winter rosé to discover.

A rosé in winter? Perfectly! This rosé has incredible aromatic richness. Have fun tasting it blind, you might mistake it for a white. On the palate, it's a veritable concentrate of wild strawberry and rose, enveloped in a beautiful minerality. This cuvée is perfect for food and wine pairings; try it with sushi, red mullet with tomato, sweet and sour dishes... This rosé, known as "de saignée", meaning a few hours of maceration before extraction of the lightly colored juice, can be kept for several years. An original wine to discover!

"A perfect white for gourmets".

This cuvée is a selection of the estate's best clos de blanc, blending Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Vermentino. This long-keeping white reveals fresh notes of nuts (almonds, hazelnuts), white flowers and hints of citrus. The attack is frank with a mineral framework and a rich, voluptuous structure. "With its slightly salmon-colored onion skin, this blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre is unmistakably seductive. The promise is perfectly fulfilled on tasting, with a wine of great elegance, imperceptibly oaky but framing the texture and giving it a subtle élan and depth. The convincing tasting of a 2010 proves the full potential of this cuvée and its astonishing ability to stand the test of time. Serve with aioli, pan-fried scallops with speck or poultry tajine with preserved lemon". (Le Figaro 2022)

Made mainly from direct-pressed Grenache grapes, with the addition of Mourvèdre and Syrah, this Costières rosé owes its name to its tender color, which resembles the petals of the rosehips at the edge of the estate's vineyards. This delicate, airy and invigorating rosé, with its tangy aromas of red berries, is just waiting to be eaten!
