"A winter rosé to discover"

Rosé in winter? Absolutely! This rosé has incredible aromatic richness. Try blind tasting it—you might mistake it for a white wine. On the palate, it's a true concentrate of wild strawberries and roses, enveloped in a beautiful minerality. This cuvée is perfect for experimenting with food and wine pairings; try it with sushi, red mullet with tomato, sweet and savory dishes... This rosé is made using the "saignée" method, which involves a few hours of maceration before extracting the lightly colored juice, and can be cellared for several years. A unique wine to discover!

About the estate:

François Collard is a regular feature in the Guide, with wines that often rank highly. Established in 1994, he produced his first bottles from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, owned by the Ursuline convent in Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, which takes its name from a 14th-century watchtower dominating the vast Beaucaire plain. Never short of ideas, the Collard couple invite visitors to discover all the facets of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth terminals.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 02/23/2024

Far from current standards, this rosé is dominated by concentrated ripe fruit accompanied by floral notes. More lively and dynamic than dense and fleshy, it is supported by silky, spicy tannins and well-structured by a touch of minerality that counterbalances the power of the 14% alcohol content and also brings balance and great smoothness. Well-structured enough to withstand a little more aging. This unique rosé will be a pleasant accompaniment to a starter of Scottish smoked salmon, or a Bo bun salad with crab spring rolls and crispy shrimp. Rating = 3.7.
