Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2016 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2016 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Good Faugères, clean, straight, with a fresh finish.
About the domain :
Grégory Hecht and François Bannier have brought a breath of fresh air to the region, specializing from the outset, in 2002, in an ambitious and original quality trade. Carefully selecting their grapes from all around the Mediterranean, from Roussillon to Provence, they vinify and mature ambitious cuvées that often ring true. Every year, they visit several hundred estates to select only the finest grapes and juices, most often from hillside vineyards.

Domaine noté (guide 2016) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
Without the fullness or warmth of the 2011 version, the 2012 Faugères captures attention with its complexity and variety of fragrances: cistus, brown tobacco, cocoa, eucalyptus...
About the domain :
Grégory Hecht and François Bannier continue their wine merchant-ageing business specializing in wines from the Mediterranean arc (Languedoc, Roussillon and Provence), giving a salutary injection of youth to a region lacking initiatives of this kind. The selection is rigorous, with a precise, aromatic style that intelligently dispenses with the influence of new wood. While we salute the work accomplished and the consistency of the most ambitious cuvées, with Faugères and Saint-Chinian among the best in their respective appellations, the range also shows some weaknesses.
