Château Mas Neuf - Armonio 2006

Château Mas Neuf - Armonio 2006

Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 14.5/20
Luc Baudet and Louis Mitjavile, exceptional winemakers at Tertre Roteboeuf (Saint-Émilion) and Roc de Cambe (Côtes de Bourg), worked together to develop this cuvée. An intense nose, revealing roasted notes, black fruit (blackberry, blueberry) and graphite, a full-bodied and creamy palate, yet with a freshness that prevents any heaviness. A very fine bottle!

Rated estate (2012 guide) 3 stars (Very good production)

About the estate:

Luc Baudet had the audacity to settle in this region, which is still heavily influenced by the cooperative. Attached to the Costières de Nîmes, he set up shop at Mas Neuf. The richness of the terroirs allows him to offer three types of cuvée: Rhône Paradox, with its freshness and purity of fruit; Compostelle, the result of sorting old vines and grapes from the best plots. And finally Armonio, born from an encounter with Louis Mitjavile (Tertre Roteboeuf, in Saint-Emilion, notably)."
