Château Pech Redon
Visit Château Pech RedonThis prestigious and renowned Languedoc estate bears the same name as the mountain overlooking the terroir. La Clapeon the heights of Gruissan, near Narbonne. This wild and natural La ClapeToday, it's a protected natural site, with a diverse flora and fauna and a breathtaking landscape. In June 2015, Coteaux du Languedoc wines La Clape get their own communal appellation. L'La Clape appellation today includes some thirty estates, including the famous Château Pech Redon.

Created at the beginning of the last century, the estate was bought and renovated by a Narbonne wine merchant in 1963, before being acquired in 1988 by the current owners, the Bousquet family. The Favorite success story was immediate, and the family embarked on a 30-hectare vineyard, 27 hectares of which are planted with red grapes and 3 with white. Aware of the natural environment around them, the Bousquet family decided in 1998 to phase out the use of chemicals, and obtained Organic Agriculture certification in 2005.

At Pech Redon and throughout the La Clape appellation, the climate is arid, one of the driest in France, with a ferocious wind that blows almost constantly; there are 13 different winds. Altitude and sea spray, however, provide a fresh contrast to this hostile climate. All these climatic features, together with the composition of the clay-limestone and stony soils, contribute to the typicality of the wines.

Christophe Bousquet earns two fine accolades on the 2018 editions of the Guide des Vins Hachette, elected winemaker of the year and Favorite du Languedoc in the Guide Vert RVF 2018. Today, Château Pech Redon wines are among the Languedoc's benchmarks, delivering wines that are powerful yet deep, structured yet well-built to age, and with freshness to balance the whole. Whites are rarer, but no less interesting. These are wines with a strong personality, revealing the full identity and complexity of the terroir from which they come, with the imprint of their creator.

(RVF Revue N°644) The terroir of La Clape brings all its brilliance to this luscious red wine, full of ripe black fruit and enhanced by peppery nuances. A gourmet success for this 100% Carignan!

" Splendid expression of La Clape with a minty, racy juice and superlative tannins. A rare expression of a rare taste, sappy, powerful, in a vintage unfortunately short of rain that didn't completely relax the tannins and that ageing will refine. What a finish! Wait for it " (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve 2020 )
