Château Auzias
In a superb Gallo-Roman villa dating from 416 AD, the Château Auzias is the largest estate in the Cabardès appellation, with a 160-hectare estate including 80 ha of vines. Situated near the city of Carcassonne in Pennautier, the Château Auziaswas revived in 1998 under the impetus of Dominique Auziastoday supported by his four children. The estate expands, attached to the neighboring Château Paretlongue, following a family inheritance: restructuring of the vineyard, cellars and commercial structure.

The Cabardès appellation is known for its singular blends for the region, introducing Bordeaux grape varieties to Languedoc soil: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot blended with traditional Grenache and Syrah. The vines are planted on the gravelly slopes of the Montagne Noire and the sandy banks of the Fresque river, benefiting from a micro-climate between Mediterranean and oceanic influences. Red wines account for 85% of production and rosé wines for 15%.

"Third Favorite in a row for the estate with its Syrah and Cabernet-Sauvignon blend, which form a powerful duo here. The word "Marin" is used here to describe a fresh breeze that moderates the natural power of perfectly ripe fruit. Very fruity, barely marked by wood (15% of the blend), the nose enchants with its blossoming fruit of cherry, red berry and forest berry. Full-bodied, round and supported by melting tannins, the palate releases its crisp fruit notes tinged with a gourmet touch of vanilla, with freshness and without any softness. Sensual and fleshy, this beautiful wine offers a delicious compromise between maturity and vigor. The jury bows before such grace " (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)
