With its four terroirs and forty-two steeples, Limoux takes advantage of an exceptional location in the Languedoc and encourages the personal efforts of each winemaker to produce exceptional wines. With the latest oceanic influences and the mark of the natural screens of the Pyrenean foothills, the climate is nuanced into four terroirs that mark the wines that come from them: Mediterranean, Autan, Oceanic, Haute-Vallée. Selection of plots, hand-picking and sorting of the grapes are essential to the production of these great wines. Toques et Clochers.
Sieur d'Arques signs with Toques et Clochers and its four Terroirs produce exceptional white wines whose Chardonnay grape variety illustrates the terroir effect: mineral notes and a fine structure for the Haute-Vallée, floral aromas and notes of dried fruit for the Autan terroir, notes of white-fleshed fruit and vanilla for the Océanique terroir, intensity of ripe fruit aromas and a fleshy mouthfeel for the Mediterranean-influenced terroir.
