"All the generosity and fragrance of ripe Syrah vinified in carbonic maceration in this enticing cuvée. Its dense color augurs a rich, concentrated nose imbued with blackcurrant and morello cherry. The same voluptuousness emanates from a palate that's as fat as you'd wish, without being flabby, with fine, crisp tannins. Lively finish of fresh fruit and sweet spices. Power, elegance, gourmandise: "it's all there", enthuse the tasters.(Le Guide Hachette 2023)

A full-bodied, gourmet wine, even if not the finest (drunk in 2024, it can certainly be rounded off). So I would have given it 4 stars... until I saw the price. A very good wine under 10 euros is unhoped-for these days!

An obvious value for money, with good body and volume on the palate, without heaviness. Not very complex, but aromatic and pleasant.

Château Beaufort's elegant, demonstrative flagship. The violet- and pepper-tinged attack opens onto a powerful, full and charming palate, enveloped by a dense, fine-grained feel, with a particularly savory unctuosity, supported by patinated, caressing tannins, beautifully rounded but still a little severe. It emanates an abundance of ripe, juicy black fruit, concentrated with toasty notes, delicate cocoa and a plethora of sweet spices. A fine acidity maintains the balance of the solid structure throughout the tasting and supports a long, velvety, voluptuous finish. Excellent RQP pleasure. Immediately irresistible. Ideal companion for a mosaic of dishes: in summer, bbq-grilled veal kidney brochettes with eggplant caviar or braised duck with candied black figs; in winter, West Indian chicken Colombo or Indian-style Shabi Korma lamb. Rating = 4.1.
