Domaine Les Grandes Costes
Located in the small Languedoc village of Vacquières, north of Montpellier, the domaine Les Grandes Costes covers 14 hectares. At the helm is Jean-Christophe Granier, a former wine journalist, who took over the family estate dating back to 1868 at the turn of the millennium. He renamed the estate Les Grandes Costes, located at at the foot of the Cévennes foothills, and now present in several appellations: AOP Pic Saint Loup, Languedoc, IGP Saint Guilhem le Désert.

In a setting of garrigues, between mountain and sea, Jean-Christophe Granier strives to produce "Signature" wines, made with respect for the environment and faithful to the terroir: Mediterranean and continental influences, calcareous and calcareous-clay soils, integrated soil and vine management (now HVE level 3 certified), traditional grape varieties (Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan), controlled yields.

Domaine Les Grandes Costes wines are available in two ranges: Mas Canaille"pleasure" cuvées, an echo of childhood memories; and Domaine Les Grandes Costes cuvées, in the spirit of heritage, expressing all the typicity and pure expression of Languedoc grape varieties. Wines that don't cheat, faithful to the Languedoc terroir for our greatest pleasure. Discover Favorite !

"Deep garnet-red color. Layered nose with fine breeding and integrated oak, aromas of violets, wild berries, pepper, clove and smoked meat. On the palate, it has good hold and volume, round tannins, a rather elegant texture, spicy, fleshy fruit flavors, good harmony and a long finish." (Andreas Larsson)

"Cuvée identitaire

This parcel-based cuvée reveals a cru with an original character of the exceptional clay-limestone terroir. The nose is marked by aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, morello cherry, black pepper. Luscious and intense on the palate, with silky tannins and complex notes of black fruit fruit and spice. The freshness on the finish lasts a long time and suggests good ageing potential. watch the video !

"Cuvée Prestige du domaine

Built on 80% Syrah, this rich, harmonious cuvée reveals all the power of the Languedoc. Its racy nose evokes black fruits and berries, violets and black olives, with lovely woody notes, smoky, balsamic and undergrowth notes. Complex, the palate is concentrated, full-bodied and spicy. A very fine expression of the Pic!
