Château de Jonquières
Château de Jonquières is a family-run wine estate. Since its foundation in the 12th century, it has been handed down from generation to generation without ever being sold. Without forgetting the richness of this heritage, the young couple Charlotte and Clément de Béarn (the 32nd generation), very engaging and passionate, are revitalizing the estate step by step: conversion to organic farming in 2013, replanting of hedges, launch of an original cuvée, planting of vines using massal selection (vines from ancient genetic heritage), choice of a contemporary visual identity, organization of a summer ephemeral restaurant in association with a Montpellier chef and Wine & Jazz evenings.

The confidential vineyard of Château de Jonquières today extends over 9 hectares in the heart of the clay-limestone terroir of the dynamic Terrasses du Larzac appellation. The soil (highly draining limestone scree), the climate (wide temperature range day/night in summer) and a naturally balanced rainfall produce highly expressive wines, with finesse and freshness.

The vines are worked with respect, and the land is ploughed or grassed. Each plot receives personalized care according to age (between 25 and 61 years) and grape variety, whatever its IGP or AOC appellation. The Château de Jonquières estate is now fully certified organic.

A free cuvée, changing face with each vintage, like a "White Label"-pressed vinyl with a very small print run-that's the idea behind this Vin de France cuvée freed from all constraints. The 2019 vintage sets the tone with 80-year-old Carignan aged in tank and barrel, with very little sulfite. The aromatic nose opens with fresh fruit and juniper, followed by a fresh, fleshy palate with great intensity. Relief!

"The La Baronnie cuvées have a serene, digestible character, with a distinctly higher relief. Yet ripe and dense, the 2012 white, part white Grenache, part Chenin, displays great finesse." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF). A dry white offering beautiful fatness and complexity thanks to the white Grenache, while remaining very subtle... To be discovered!

New vintage, 2012 rated: RVF 15/20, Bettane & Desseauve 15/20 (Bonheur tout de suite)
Lansade rosé evokes the crisp fruit of Cinsault and the freshness of Carignan. The combination of two winemaking methods (direct pressing and bleeding) gives it this balance, between delicacy and complexity. A fine summer wine to be enjoyed with grilled meats and seasonal salads...
