Château de Jonquières

Château de Jonquières is a family-owned wine estate. Since its foundation in the 12th century, this property has been passed down from generation to generation without ever being sold. Without forgetting the richness of this heritage, the young couple Charlotte and Clément de Béarn (the 32nd generation), who are very engaging and passionate, are revitalizing the estate step by step: conversion to organic farming in 2013, replanting of hedges, launch of a new cuvée, planting of mass-selected vines (vines from ancient genetic heritage), choosing a bold contemporary visual identity, organizing a pop-up summer restaurant in partnership with a chef from Montpellier, and hosting Wine & Jazz evenings.

The Château de Jonquières vineyard now covers 9 hectares in the heart of the clay-limestone terroir of the dynamic Terrasses du Larzac appellation. The soil (well-drained limestone scree), the climate (wide temperature range between day and night in summer), and naturally balanced rainfall produce wines with strong expression, finesse, and freshness.

The vines are cultivated with respect, and the land is plowed or grassed. Each plot receives personalized care depending on its age (between 25 and 61 years old) and grape variety, regardless of its IGP or AOC appellation. The Château de Jonquières estate is now fully certified organic.
