Massaya
The Massaya estate is located in the cradle of the first wines, in Lebanon, in the heart of the Beqaa Valley. The name Massaya comes from the word "massa", used in Lebanon to describe the sunset behind Mount Lebanon, when the Beqaa sky turns a purplish night-blue.
Massaya is the result of a Franco-Lebanese partnership, between the Goshn family reinvesting the family land and Daniel Brunier (domaine Le Vieux Télégraphe) in 1997. Substantial investment modernized the buildings of the old distillery, as well as the vineyard, in Tanaïl, in the heart of the Beqaa Valley, which historically produced Arak brandy. The first bottles of Arak were produced in 1994, and the wines arrived in 1998. Today, Massaya is enriched by a second site in 2014, located in Faqra, in a rocky region at a higher altitude, at the foot of Mount Lebanon.
Massaya wines are mainly produced on clay-limestone soils, between 800 m and 1200 m altitude, in a Mediterranean climate giving typical wines, frank and sunny but with just the right balance. The domaine uses endemic local grape varieties blended with French varieties such as Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. A benchmark in the region!

This cuvée comes from elsewhere, from high altitude hillsides, and is made from Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Tempranillo. The attack is fresh, pleasant and dynamic, with supple, well-integrated tannins. The fruit takes center stage, with notes of red and black fruits enhanced by hints of oriental spices and pepper. Balanced and elegant, this cuvée from elsewhere will accompany your summer barbecues, served slightly chilled! (Screw cap)
