Crémant de Loire
The Crémant de Loire AOC was recognized on October 17, 1975, and covers 3 vineyards: Touraine, Anjou and Saumur. The size of the appellation offers a wide range of climatic nuances and soil variability.
Chenin and Chardonnay are the 2 star grape varieties of this appellation, but we also find black grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pineau d'Aunis...) in single-variety or blends. Crémant de Loire is subject to strict specifications, with manual harvesting, open-top crates, minimum 12-month ageing on laths, limited pressing, etc. Taking advantage of the traditional know-how of winegrowers and merchants, as well as favorable production conditions, Crémant-de-Loire has gradually developed.
