"Cuvée ambassadrice du savoir faire de Xavier Weisskopf, a real coup de coeur for this beautiful Chenin".
Le Grand Clos, formerly known as Négrette, offers a beautiful brilliance sublimated by controlled ageing. The nose is rich and complex, with great elegance. Delicate notes of white flowers and dried fruit, with a delicious minerality on the palate.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 92/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Xavier Weisskopf farms 9 hectares in Montlouis and 4 in the Touraine appellation. His terroirs are planted with old vines resulting from massal selection, which favors high-flying cuvées. The whites impress with their purity, in an appellation with no shortage of talent. An elite winemaker, one of the best addresses in the area.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (Guide 2025) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2025) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
White peach, apple, acacia, hints of cream and honey, the nose is not lacking in complexity. Chiselled, long, fragrant, with a tangy finish, this is an energetic, beautifully-aged Montlouis that belongs on the table with river fish.
About the domain :
Originally from the Oise region, Xavier Weisskopf set up his own winery (17 ha, organic) in 2005. Nothing had prepared him for this profession, but his studies in Chablis introduced him to the world of wine, which led him to the "Viti" in Beaune, then to Gigondas and finally to the banks of the Loire.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2024) 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Three fine dry whites are on the horizon for 2021, where the Chenin has found a slender, saline balance, like the Grand Clos, with its suave envelope, unusual in this vintage, and a depth that provides gentle salivation. A beautiful energy chisels the finish without any aggressiveness.
About the domain :
Clémence and Xavier Weisskopf set up their vineyard in 2005 with very little money and a cellar made of odds and ends. In recent years, they have become one of Montlouis-Sur-Loire's leading names. The 17 hectares spread between Montlouis and Touraine are cultivated at Organic: Touche Mitaine (flinty clay), Les Borderies (clay-limestone, 40-year-old vines), Le Grand Poirier (clay-sandstone, 67-year-old vines)... A myriad of terroirs has been isolated in bottle, in whites aiming for aromatic nuance, delicacy, and expression with the integrity of dry Chenin or with residual sugar, depending on the mood of the vintage. The reds still have room for improvement.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 92/100
About the wine:
The Montlouis-sur-Loire Le Grand Clos 2021 has generosity and a personality that expresses itself gently. However, the natural acidity of this late-ripening clay parcel, the 91-year-old vines and the 2021 vintage mean that the wine has a line of lively acidity running through it, giving it direction and energy. Completely dry, it leaves the drinker with an impression of uprightness. Barrel aging (500 liters, of which 30% are new) lends it a certain richness and a soft, creamy aspect.
