"An exceptional vintage!

The 1997 Quarts de Chaume Bellerive has benefited from the little "miracles" of the mild Anjou weather, to become one of the appellation's exceptional years. With luscious, intense notes of candied apricot and mango, it now presents itself in all its fullness, smoothly, without heaviness. An anthology year for a gourmet gem at an affordable price!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

A wine enthusiast, Alain Château is a passionate swallower of terroirs. Since 2005, he has built up an impressive portfolio of vineyards in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley, where he owns three properties: Château de Varennes (7 hectares in Savennières), Château de la Guimonière (19 hectares in Coteaux-du-Layon Chaume, Anjou and Cabernet d'Anjou - including 16 hectares of Chenin) and Château Bellerive, located in the heart of the Quarts-de-Chaume appellation on the left bank of the Loire. These sweet wines combine power, elegance and freshness, and hold their own in their respective appellations. We did not taste the reds.

Estate rated 5*Stars (Outstanding production)

About the domain :

Alain Château, an industrialist with a passion for wine, took over this historic quarts-de-chaume vineyard in 2004. His advisor was Denis Dubourdieu, a renowned Bordeaux oenologist who also owns a Sauternes cru classé. Dazzling in its golden color, this cuvée brings together in one bouquet the sweetness of quince and honey, and aromas of candied fruit. Smooth, fresh and rich, the palate finishes with warm, pleasant impressions. Discover it now.
