Sylvain Bruneau Winemaker
The estate Bruneau-Dupuy is a family story that has been unfolding in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil for several generations, and is now being written by Sylvain Bruneau. The vineyard, protected to the north by forest, extends over 22 hectares of vines that have been certified organic since 2016.

Thanks to south-facing slopes covered with old vines on clay-limestone soils, the wines are full-bodied and long on the palate, with pronounced red fruit aromas.
The other part of the Bruneau vineyard is planted on sandy soils, bringing more lightness and fresh fruit. The king grape variety is the Cabernet Franc, typical of the region. Sylvain Bruneau produces mainly red wines with his 4 cuvées: Tradition, Vieilles Vignes, Réserve and l'Éclosion.

"A fine benchmark for the appellation, a sure bet for this cuvée de garde".

This cuvée develops complex aromas of ripe, even jammy red fruit. The balance is perfect and the acidity pleasantly pronounced. The tannins are smooth, providing fullness and great length on the palate.

Produced from ideally-situated 60-year-old vines, this "natural" wine benefits from an atypical vinification process (3 weeks of punching down at a rate of 3 per day). It is then aged in ovoid vats for 12 months. It has a lovely nose of peony, smoky notes and black fruits. The palate is equally pleasant, rich and deep, with structure thanks to silky tannins. It would be ideal with medallions of venison loin in cranberry sauce. It will reveal itself even more after some time in the cellar!

"A fine benchmark for the appellation

"After 12 months in barrel, this cuvée delivers a lovely bouquet of vanilla and fruit. A harmonious marriage of wood and Cabernet, extended by a full, round mouth, structured by smooth, silky tannins. A very well-balanced wine from start to finish". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)
