About the domain :

This 14-hectare family estate, managed by Pascal Reverdy, is meticulously cultivated in an environmentally-friendly manner, without claiming to be organic. In white, the cuvée Terre-de-Maimbray, from a Kimmeridgian terroir similar to that of Chablis, is a fine introduction. This is one of Sancerre's best value-for-money wines.

About the domain :

The village of Maimbray is surrounded by steep hillsides with Kimmeridgian marl soils. After the death of her husband Nicolas in 2007, Sophie Reverdy took over the family business (17.8 ha) alongside her brother-in-law Pascal. In 2019, Pascal's son Victorien joined the estate, followed in 2023 by Benjamin, the youngest son.

About the domain :

At their estate in Sury-En-Vaux, Pascal Reverdy and his sister-in-law Sophie produce a range of reliable, characterful, fruity and finely mineral whites, with smoky finishes such as Anges Lots and Grande Rue. 2020 embodies the reds' shift towards a more floral, uncluttered style, the result of reflections on partial vinification in whole bunches. The arrival of Pascal's son Victorien, a young oenologist, breathes new life into the wines.

After a lively, brilliant attack, this lovely Sancerre displays even more on this refreshing 2023, a fine juice of great vitality, with concentrated lemon and grapefruit aromas of exquisite purity. The mid-palate is not lacking in roundness or density, giving the whole a great deal of amplitude. An invigorating, salivating finish, carried by the chalky minerality of the terroir. Unbeatable price-pleasure ratio. Its natural freshness immediately sublimated a carpaccio of Saint-Brieuc scallops with exotic fruits. Score = 4.2.
