Clos Roussely
Dependent on the village château since the 18th century, Clos Roussely was bought by Vincent's great-grandfather Anatole, who set up as a winemaker and distiller. Marcel, the grandfather, went on to develop the vineyard and set up a wine trading company in 1947. In the early 1980s, Vincent's father and aunt, Jean Claude and Nicole, devoted themselves to developing the trading company, leaving the Clos Roussely vineyards to a local winemaker.

Vincent Roussely decided to take over the business and the buildings of the former wine merchant's in 2001. From that moment on, he never ceased to breathe new life into the place, to make it more welcoming and to share his passion for wine. The vineyard is located in the heart of the village of Angé, overlooking the banks of the Cher River. Located in the Touraine and Touraine-Chenonceaux appellation areas, it covers 8 hectares that have been certified organic since 2007. An original feature of the estate is that the wines are vinified in troglodytic tuffeau caves beneath the vineyard. The oldest vines on the estate are 80 years old. The clay-limestone terroir, with its abundance of flint, and the temperate climate allow superb expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. This variety accounts for 80% of the estate's surface area. The estate's other grape varieties are Côt, Pineau d'Aunis, Cabernet Franc and Gamay. The soil is maintained with respect by ploughing and scratching, without the use of herbicides, pesticides or chemical molecules. The oldest vines are worked by horse. Clos Roussely is dedicated to protecting the diversity of plants and animals on the estate. You may come across horses, donkeys and sheep as you stroll around the estate.
