"Kumeu River's 2018 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a Hawke's Bay vineyard originally conceived as part of a partnership between Trinity Hill and the Jolivet de la Loire family. It is made from hand-harvested grapes and fermented with indigenous yeasts, before being aged (briefly) in stainless steel. The nose is marked by notes of nectarine and pink grapefruit, while the medium-bodied palate has a silky texture and a lively, tangy finish, with hints of lime and fresh herbs." (Wine Advocate 2019). "Soft notes of toasted grain mark the nose of Mate's Vineyard 2018 Chardonnay, framing aromas of ripe pineapple and white peach. There's also a hint of bacon fat. Medium-bodied on the palate, the wine is slightly creamy and silky, yet crisp and concentrated, tightening on the finish to end on an explosion of citrus zest.
