About the wine:
Escarpment may be better known for its Pinot Noir, but this Chardonnay is in a class of its own. On the nose, powerful aromas of grilled pineapple, candied lemon, gun smoke, shellfish and toast ripple. The palate is rich with nuances of flavor, crisp acidity, woody structure and a beautiful, biting texture. This classy wine will gain honeyed complexity with age. Drink through 2032.

Grilled pineapple, dried mango, smoke, hay and grilled lemon on the nose. Full-bodied with zesty acidity. Excellent texture and concentration with a fine balance between citrus zest and smoky, reducing notes. Drink now or cellar. Screw cap.

It's expensive for what it is, with a compressed side (too much sulfur?!) on the mid-palate and finish that spoils all the interest this wine has on the attack. A disappointment
