Quinta do Noval
Founded in 1715, Quinta do Noval is located in the Douro Valley, in northern Portugal, a region of Europe that is still wild and authentically beautiful.

Quinta do Noval's 145-hectare vineyard is cultivated with an A-rated approach to quality, and is terraced on the slopes of the rugged valleys of the Douro and its tributaries. It is planted with the Douro's noblest grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Francisca, Sousão. The plots are rich in geographical diversity, with schistose soils more or less mixed with clay.

Quinta do Noval Ports are traditionally made by crushing the grapes at the foot of the vat during fermentation, then stopping fermentation by adding quality brandy. Quinta do Noval Port wines are among the region's elite in terms of typicity, quality and finesse.

"Fresh, silky and subtly concentrated, it shows its fruit essence on the tongue [...] The fruity to fresh sensation makes it both suave and savory. It also has ripe tannins. It can last a while, but don't hesitate to drink it as soon as it comes out." (Wine Advocate 2019 - Mark Squires)

generous

"The 2017 Touriga Nacional was aged for ten months in French oak barrels [...] More generous than the other single varietals that have tasted this Noval cuvée, it also has the best structure while retaining the silky character of Petit Verdot. Fresh, pure and discreet, this Touriga is a perfect table wine. However, it needs some time to show better fruit expression" (Wine Advocate 2019 - Mark Squires)

"A little richer than the 2015 (also reviewed as Tinto, the estate's red), while retaining the same tannic structure and a sense of freshness, it's also beautifully textured with the sensation of a velvety wave on the palate. It also retains a sophisticated, magnificent mid-palate finesse. It has outstanding potential, one of the best I know of from the estate, if not Noval's best table wine." (Wine Advocate 2018 - Mark Squires)

Quinta Do Noval - Silval Vintage 2007

Notes : La Revue du Vin de France 17/20, For The Love of Port 93-95+/100, Wine Enthousiast 92/100, Stephen Tanzer 92/100, Wine & Spirits 92/100, Wine Spectator 90/100, Robert Parker 89/100
"This entry-level wine from Noval already shows the potential of this illustrious estate. The nose is magnificent, combining noble vegetal and well-defined fruit, relayed by a freshness evoked by a note of lemon thyme. Beautiful aromatic complexity and precise substance form a graceful, elegant whole, even if density is not its greatest asset" (La Revue du Vin de France).

"The Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2007 is a star of the vintage. Dense purple in color, it offers an already complex aromatic array of lavender, Asian spices, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits with hints of chocolate in the background. This full, open port has a singular blend of elegance and power. Long and savory on the finish, it will continue to flourish for over 20 years and should drink well into its 50th year, if not beyond." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Quinta Do Noval - Tawny 20 ans

Notes : Robert Parker 91/100, Wine Spectator 92/100
"My favorite of the three Tawnys reviewed on this segment is the 20-Year-Old Tawny. It offers an amber color, a complex, dense, spicy nose of tobacco, cedar, smoke, rich flavors that belie the color of age, which appears weak, and an expansive personality. This is a classic example of how delicious a 20-year-old tawny can be." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

This Port is made like a Vintage and, like it, carries the typicity of one year. Unfiltered, it is highly accessible and immediate, offering an explosion of red fruit on the palate, with a solid tannic structure and a long, harmonious finish. Supple, it will continue to evolve in bottle!

Elegant and delicate, Tawny Reserve is aged in cascos (oak barrels) for 5 to 6 years. Reddish amber in color, with a complex nose, it is rich, harmonious and well-structured on the palate. The ideal companion for chocolate sweets... To be discovered!

Fine Ruby is a young, powerful Port with a distinctive fruity character that brings out aromas of wild cherries. Well-balanced on the palate, it distils intense fruit notes and good length. A Port marked by the vigor and freshness of its fruit. Delicious!
