Henri Milan Estate
In 1956, Robert Milan bought a property in Saint Rémy de Provence and planted vines two years later. The entire harvest of the following years was sold, due to a lack of vinification equipment. In the 70s, Robert Milan decided to build a winery to vinify his own wines.

Twenty years after the creation of Domaine Milan, Henri Milan, son of Robert, took over the family business and avoided having to uproot the vines. His career as a winegrower was enriched by various encounters, notably with Claude Bourguignon - a researcher in soil microbiology. This was the trigger for the conversion of the vineyard to organic farming.

Another milestone in Domaine Henri Milan's development was the voluntary withdrawal from the AOC Baux de Provence label, giving the company greater freedom in the way it makes its wines. Since 2007, the wines have been labelled Vin de Table, and from 2009, Vin de France. Signature wines with strong personality and great potential!

"Mediterranean purity

This is a Mediterranean cuvée of great purity, with elegant tannins and a beautiful expression of black fruit aromas. Harmonious and full of finesse, this wine is made from a short maceration of Grenache noir, Syrah and Niellucio. It takes us to a typically Provençal spicy finish, with a hint of garrigue! Sublimely fresh, the fruitiness of Cuvée Papillon Rouge is remarkable. A convivial wine par excellence, it's perfect with a platter of charcuterie, among other things... With no added sulfur, this wine may present a cloudy color, deposits and gas on tasting, which will disappear after aeration.

"Papillon rosé 2014 (sulfur-free) is a wine of rare intensity in this color. Its notes of fresh figs and pepper, as well as its slight tannic asperity, make it an outstanding rosé, truly original and delicious, far from fashionable!" (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF) Without added sulfur, this wine may present a cloudy color, some deposit but also some gas upon tasting.

"The Clos 2009, vinified in whole bunches and aged for 48 months, offers notes of fresh coffee, finely oxidized blackcurrant juice and pepper on the finish. This is a wine with a patina, melted and still very generous. It will make a fine pairing at the table, starting this winter". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF)
