Hecht and Bannier House
Hecht et Bannier is the first wine merchant and winemaker dedicated to the wines of southern France, led by Languedoc and Roussillon. Founded in 2002 by Gregory Hecht and François Bannier, it has recently expanded into Provence, in the Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations.

Hecht and Bannier have a watchword: to establish under their name a regional quality benchmark through a unique range of appellation wines. From one vintage to the next, these wines enable wine-lovers to discover the extraordinary quality and richness of the Roussillon, Languedoc and Provence regions. Every year, Hecht and Bannier visit over a hundred producers in each appellation, selecting only the very best wines. Most of the wines come from the coolest vineyards, where it's not uncommon to find vines over a hundred years old. The aim is to reveal the complementarity of each batch and to understand what they bring to each other.

"Without the fullness or warmth of the 2011 version, the 2012 Faugères holds our attention with its complexity and variety of flavors: cistus, brown tobacco, cocoa, eucalyptus..." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF)

"The 2011 Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages delivers classic aromas of red and black fruits, mineral, licorice and earthy scents in a full-bodied, lively, beautifully textured profile on the palate, with savory tannins. It will evolve well through 2019." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). A discreet chocolate note and a hint of saltiness on a finish that lingers admirably. A job well done!

"Fresher, livelier and more complex, the 2011 Saint-Chinian is another fine bottle from this producer. Notes of ripe cherry, blackberry, flowers and garrigue make up the bouquet, in a medium-bodied, fresh and supple palate, with juicy acidity and a clean finish. Drink over the next 4-5 years. (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). A red of unique density and depth, bringing seriousness and character, with very promising ageing potential...

"The Maury Hecht & Bannier 2010 is surprisingly fruity for a wine of this appellation, highlighted by notes of strawberry and raspberry, with roasted, resinous and crushed-stone accents. With 90g of residual sugar, it's very balanced by appellation standards, i.e. not too sweet or sticky. Enjoy it until 2017, or longer." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

"Very neat, precise, the Bandol follows closely on the heels of the Faugères. It is perfumed and endowed with fine tannins". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2014 - RVF). A very sunny wine, with just the right balance brought about by the unique tannins of Bandol's Mourvèdre... Elegance and finesse!

In white, Côtes de Provence Hecht & Bannier reveals an assertive Mediterranean personality, a lively, aromatic wine that reveals notes of white flowers, aniseed and garrigue. Aged exclusively in vats, it preserves its freshness and finesse. A perfect match for grilled bass...

This Côtes de Provence is pale pink, limpid and brilliant, with an intense nose evoking fennel, aniseed and violet, accompanied by a discreet note of sweet spices from the Syrah. A charming Provençal rosé, preserving its minerality, to be enjoyed with friends over a plate of charcuterie, for example...

Very spring-like on the nose, evoking white flowers, aniseed and citrus fruit, this white Corbières is lively and chiselled on the palate, typically Mediterranean. Aged in vats, it retains all its freshness, while expressing the southern roundness of the Roussanne grape. A convivial wine for great pleasure!
