"There is no wood in this Grenache-dominated cuvée (60%), but the fruit expresses itself unadorned, with aromas of morello cherry and strawberry compote, enhanced by a hint of tonka bean. Supple and velvety, supported by finely extracted round tannins, the palate reveals a delicious fruitiness that lingers in a fresh finish with distinctive hints of licorice." (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

About wine:
Toasted nose, black fruits. Quite wild with wild berries, sage, and chewy, very firm tannins. Good acidity, but the thick tannins and toasted bread flavor need to integrate.

2020 was a big candy full of fruit... 2021 seemed blander to me, worth trying again... and the bottle, decanted for a good hour, went down well in the evening. April 2025.

A rather simple Cairanne, without any fuss, but incredibly effective with its very Mediterranean accents. A profusion of freshly picked wild berries slides harmoniously across the palate, offering more crunch than woodiness. A generous, silky texture, supported by wonderfully ripe and delicious tannins. Fine notes of licorice and cocoa enhance the Full-bodied, generous and silky, supported by wonderfully ripe and delicious tannins. Subtle notes of licorice and cocoa reinforce the opulence and persistence of the finish. This well-structured and reasonably priced Cairanne was a good accompaniment to confit pork shanks and baked potatoes. Rating = 4.2.
